The Obagi “Blue” peel is an exciting new way to refresh your skin by removing its wrinkles, age spots, acne blemishes, and scars, and restoring its elasticity. The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name Botox®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. Before the Botox® injection, ice is placed on the area to be injected. The patient may experience a small sting, then no discomfort. The effects of Botox® usually last three to four months. Radiance is comprised of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) in an inert, aqueous gel. A synthetic compound, CaHA is identical to the chemical structure of calcium naturally present in the body. Radiance has undergone extensive safety testing, and CaHA has been used for many years as an implant in dentistry and surgery. It does not produce allergic reaction, and no skin testing is required prior to treatment. The Radiance formula is cream-like in texture, and remains soft throughout its life. Following injection, the body forms a tissue matrix around the Radiance microspheres. Radiance is gradually metabolized by the body after about a year.

Superficial leg veins are also known as spider veins, telangectasias, or superficial varicose veins. Leg veins are a common condition among men and women and may be hereditary. There is no known cause for these veins, although they seem to occur after pregnancy or to people in occupations that involve prolonged standing. More economical than lasers, and effective for varicose veins of all sizes, sclerotherapy involves the injection of various solutions that cause irritation to the veins, causing them to close off after about three to six weeks. Some vessels will require more than one injection. About 50 to 80 percent of all veins can be eliminated in one session. Side effects are minimal, but may include temporary swelling and bruising, tenderness, and cramping. The risks, although rare, are discoloration of the skin or ulceration. Aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications have to be avoided for 48 hours, and compression-type support hosiery will need to be worn daily for up to two weeks after treatment. Even with treatment, new veins may develop in other areas.
